University World News articles on community engagement and TEFCE

The TEFCE project established cooperation with University World News in promoting the launch of the TEFCE Toolbox for community engagement in higher education, which then resulted in two additional articles relating to community engagement in higher education.

- How to foster better civic engagement by universities: article by Brendan O’Malley about the launch of the TEFCE Toolbox and about the TEFCE project outcomes, including interviews with TEFCE coordinator Thomas Farnell and Noel O’Connor, director of student development at Technological University Dublin.

- Community-university engagement in a time of COVID-19: based on recommendation by the TEFCE project coordinator, University World News commissioned an article by Budd Hall and Rajesh Tandon on community engagement in higher education in a global context.

- University makes relocation a vehicle for social change: article by Brendan O’Malley about Technological University Dublin’s establishment of a new campus and how community engagement is a key process of this new development. Includes references to the TEFCE project.
